Mercy & Jay's Wedding In The Park

I know it’s been a while since I posted Mercy & Jay’s sneak peek, but I was waiting to finish editing their pictures till I got Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6. I had been running on Photoshop CS4 and a trial version of both Lightroom 3 & 4 and finally decided to just go ahead and make the purchase. Which I’m glad I did because I probably use Lightroom the most for my editing & workflow. I also decided to purchase VSCO Film to finish editing Mercy & Jay’s pictures in and I love it!! VSCO Film (aka: Visual Supply Co) are presets that you apply to your pictures to emulate film. Now I didn’t edit all of their pictures with these presets just some of them.
In some other related news, the photographer I second shot for back in May has delivered the couple’s wedding pictures which now means I’m able to post some of the images I got from that wedding, so I will be posting some of those soon! But I will not be able to post them on Facebook so make sure and come back here if you would like to see them. I have also been working hard on building my new website and trying to make it perfect before I switch over to that one completely but it shouldn’t be too much longer till it’s finished!! Also, a couple Sunday’s ago, July 1st, to be exact, I helped out my friend Meagan Marler (who was my maid of honor) by shooting a wedding with her at Ashton Gardens. So be on the lookout for those pictures as well! And sadly I sprained my ankle as a result of that wedding and had to cancel second shooting another wedding at the exact same venue that Friday, July 6th, with Leslie Spurlock. :( I was very sad!! But it’s pretty much feeling better now so that’s good! :)
Anyway, back to the point, the day started off at Mercy’s parent’s home where she got dressed (I was kind of doing double duty at this point as I was helping her get into her dress & making sure she had everything she needed lol), we then drove from there to the park in Garland where her & Jay were getting married and immediately did a first look. I was kind of nervous for this part since I had never done one before, but I think it turned out pretty good for my first time with no second shooter. I was never pro first looks before this day but after watching the emotions that came from these two when they saw each other for the first time in private was amazing and a beautiful thing to be able to witness! After they had a few moments to themselves we then did some portraits of just them for probably a good hour which is the dream lol! Mercy’s father escorted her down the aisle in front of just their closest family and the ceremony was officiated by Mercy’s brother, Simon Nompone. One thing they did that I LOVE is instead of a unity candle or sand they decided to have a unity tree! So cool & unique!! The small reception was held at the park underneath a pavilion and was catered by Babes Chicken and Pinkberry for desert! Overall Mercy & Jay’s wedding was beautiful, intimate, and perfect! Congratulations you guys! I love y’all and wish you a long and happy marriage!! :) Enjoy some of my favorites from their day & be sure and friend me on Facebook because I will be posting more on there!

I am so excited to announce that Barbara & Jim’s wedding has been featured on the wedding blog BlushLoveWed!! Be sure to head on over there and check it out! :)

I have had some people ask me how I’m getting my work published on all of these different blogs and the answer is Two Bright Lights. Two Bright Lights is an online publicity platform where you can easily upload your favorite images from a wedding or photo shoot and instantly send them to blogs and magazines to be published. The best part about Two Bright Lights is that even if your submission doesn’t get accepted to a blog or magazine there is no hassle of re-uploading the pictures because they are automatically saved to an album in your account and all you have to do is submit that album to another one of their editorial partners. It's that easy and awesome! :)

Happy Tuesday and have a great 4th of July! :)
